- One of the major biomes of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is that of the tropical rainforest. The “Big Island” of Hawaii is basically like a giant tropical rain forest. Since it is this biome, the environment usually stays warm year-round and has tall trees, various animals, and frequent rain all year. The area in and around the National Park would all be considered a tropical rainforest.
